ONE month after losing its only source of income an animal charity is back on its feet.

Animal SOS Sri Lanka will open its new shop in Jubilee Parade, Snakes Lane East, Woodford Green, on Thursday (June 21).

The future of the charity looked bleak last month when it was unable to renew the lease on its old shop in The Broadway, Woodford Green.

Landlord Peter Southgate, owner of the Vault bar next door, was said to be planning a new venture in the shop.

Kim Cooling, who runs the charity, said: "We signed the lease on Friday and wanted to get things moving as quickly as possible.

"We just hope all our customers can find us now we have moved.

"This new shop means the charity can start operating as normal again."

Mrs Cooling is also appealing for more donations to raise funds for the 400 stray dogs and cats the charity looks after at the sanctuary in Sri Lanka.

"We will take anything - books, clothes, jewellery - any unwanted items to help us raise money," she said.

The shop will open at 10am on Thursday (June 21) and nibbles and drinks will be available.
