PUPILS marking their school’s 60th anniversary judged pictures of their town in a photography competition to kick off celebrations.
More than 400 pictures were taken by primary school children and pupils at King Harold Business and Enterprise Academy in Waltham Abbey.
The finalists will have their work displayed during an anniversary exhibition at the Broomstick Hall Road school from July 14.
Teacher Jonathan Foster, one of the event’s organisers, said: “It’s about giving the children the opportunity to do a lot of different things and photography was something they could do to explore their environment.
“We’ve got lots going on, including textile projects, a creative writing competition and an oral history project.”
The free exhibition, which will also include photographs from the school’s history and memorabilia, will run in the school hall until July 22.
It will be open from 3pm to 9pm on July 14 and 15, from 4pm to 9pm from July 16 to 20, from 11am to 9pm on July 21 and from 11am to 6pm on July 22.
