The old town hall in The Ridgeway
AN application to turn a former town hall into a housing estate has been submitted.
Fairview Homes hopes to build 88 homes in The Ridgeway, the site of the former municipal offices That number of properties was reduced from 95 following a public consultation.
Most of the homes would be in blocks of up to four storeys, which will be accompanied by 111 car park spaces.
The listed town hall building, which will be retained, was due to become a doctor or dentist surgery, but the application suggests it future has not been decided, with residential, office and leisure uses all being considered.
