THOUSANDS have been donated to a hospice by a charity that has been supporting it for two decades.
The organisers of the annual Thornwood Festival raised £2,500 for St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood, despite having to move stalls at the event out of the village hall field because of heavy rain.
A cheque for the total, as well as £40 raised by the Thornwood Common Gardening Club, was presented to the hospice on Wednesday.
Camilla Whitby, a fundraiser at the hospice, said: “We would like to thank the Thornwood Festival committee and all their wonderful volunteers for raising such a fantastic amount of money for the hospice.”
