STAFF at Whipps Cross Hospital have been helping out at the Olympics by both performing in its opening ceremony and volunteering at the Games.
Seven staff at the Leytonstone site donned retro nurses outfits and danced in the ceremony's tribute to the NHS, while others have been helping out behind the scenes at the athletes village and at various events.
Other staff are also due to perform at the Paralympic Games opening ceremony.
Michelle Burnett, Secretary for the Psychological Support Service, was one of those who took part in Danny Boyle's acclaimed opener at the Olympic Ceremony.
She said: “The night felt amazing and was over far too quickly.
" It's good to know people liked it too - one thing’s for sure, it has been a fantastic experience and one we will all treasure forever.”
Others who took part included nurses, therapists and healthcare assistants.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said staff were volunteering in their spare time and had used their annual leave to book time off in order to take part.
