SWINGING musicians played therapeutic music to residents of a nursing home yesterday afternoon.

Harts House Nursing Home, in Harts Grove, Woodford Green played host to the special concert.

The swinging blues band, Let's Wing, played a melody of tunes to help improve the lives the of residents at the home.

Care home manager, Juliana Miles, said: "Music is such a huge part of everyday life but a live performance really is very special. We love listening to music as it brings everyone together, lifts spirits and certainly gets toes tapping.



"Residents who may normally struggle with memories, such as those with dementia, suddenly find themselves recalling words and songs."

Activities co-ordinator, Sue Riefe, said everyone had a fantastic time and some residents even clapped along to the music.
