A national business has expanded to three new districts after a resident's "inspiring visit" to China.

Almas Adam, 24 from Mornington Road, Leytonstone, opened Right at Home care services, which provides home care services for seniors and adults with physical and mild learning disabilities, in Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Epping Forest this month.

Mr Adam said he opened the franchise after being inspired by "the independence of elderly people in Beijing" when he visited China in 2012.

He said: “In Beijing, in an area called Shaungijn, I was amazed that every night in the centre of the town there would be crowds of older people dancing, playing instruments, doing Tai Chi, ballroom dancing, even people on rollerblades.

“It was an inspiring view of how age need not be a barrier to enjoying life.

“My vision is to bring that active culture of older people to my local community.

“It may be ambitious and may take a long time but it is clearly achievable and would be truly amazing.”

Mr Adam, who has predicted that the expansion of the business will create around 50 jobs in the next 12-18 months, said he and registered manager, Sarah Cox, plan to provide services that clients and families can rely on.

Mr Adam said: “People only have absolute trust in relative of friends and that is understandable.

“We aim to provide that support and only hire people who we feel we would confidently trust to care for our own family."
