A property management company has been ordered to pay £4,000 after failing to properly dispose of its rubbish.
During a visit by council enforcement officers, RHP Services Ltd in Forest Road was found to have inadequate bins and had left waste on the ground.
The business was subsequently fined £3,000 and ordered to pay costs of £850.
Suja Luna Khaled, of Hanbury Drive, Leytonstone, was also fined £1,000 and ordered to pay costs and charges totalling over £700 for leaving an advertising sign up for more than two weeks.
The prosecutions come after the launch of the council’s ‘Don’t Mess With Waltham Forest’ campaign, which has seen a clampdown on fly-tipping, littering and other so-called ‘enviro-crimes’.
A total of 145 fixed penalty notices have been issued since the campaign began last month.
Three-quarters of those were handed to people caught dropping litter or spitting.
Other offences included letting a dog off its lead in a public place, fly-posting, unlicensed street trading, the illegal deposit of skips on the highway and unlicensed waste transportation.
