Essex Police appeal for information following attempted burglary in The Uplands, Loughton

THIEVES were forced to flee after setting off a burglar alarm while attempting a break-in.

Police are appealing for information following the attempted burglary in The Uplands, Loughton, at 11.30am on Tuesday November 13.

The thieves attempted to force open the front door of a property but, when its alarm activated, fled toward the high street.

Investigating officer DC Adam Goodger said: "We're particularly keen to identify an elderly couple who had been walking along The Uplands and who may have seen men running off from this house."

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Harlow police station.
