PARKING in council run spaces will be free to use on Saturdays and bank holidays over the Christmas period.

Epping Forest District Council has announced that it will not charge for pay and display car parks on December 1, to December 29 and on January 1.

Councillor Gary Waller, highways portfolio holder, said: “I hope that this relaxation will make it easier for those who have any last-minute Christmas shopping to do.”

Too little, too late, how many bank Hols before Christmas?

People would rather go Westfields and be done with it?

Its not free in Loughton on Saturday, except for Traps Hill car park which is full by 10am. So it is good news.

Cornbeefur - in an article about customer parking in Chingford you said you were "... hoping councils relax their draconian parking restrictions in the run up to Christmas...". EFDC is offering free parking from the 1st to 29th December, plus weekends and Bank Holidays yet to this you comment "too little too late".

Make your mind up.
