A MAJOR restaurant chain could soon open a branch in a town centre.

Portugese chicken bistro Nando’s has applied for an alcohol licence for part of the former Browns car dealership premises on the corner of Station Road and High Road, Loughton.

The licence would run from 11am to midnight from Monday to Sunday.

The company has also won planning permission to install a planter on the flat roof of a unit on the corner of High Road and Station Road in Loughton.

Epping Forest District Council has already given permission for the building to be used as a restaurant.
