The Met Office's yellow 'be aware' weather warning remains in place for east London and west Essex today.

Conditions remain icy on the roads this morning but there are no reports of any major travel disruption.

The Met Office says between 1cm and 3cm of snow could fall in south east England and London today, and there is a "low risk" of as much as 5cm falling.

It said the forecast for tomorrow is uncertain, but the yellow weather warning has been extended to Tuesday as ice is likely to remain.

Dozens of schools in Waltham Forest, Redbridge and Epping Forest are closed today because of the snow.

The Met Office issued a more serious amber warning on Friday but downgraded it to yellow at the weekend.
