Dogs in Waltham Abbey kennels need a home

East London and West Essex Guardian Series: Sox the dog Sox the dog

Desperate dogs are in need of a home after spending Christmas in kennels.

Isa the white husky, who is between one and two years old, was found wandering in Palmerston Road, Buckhurst Hill, over the festive period and is staying at Hillside Kennels in Waltham Abbey, which the RSPCA uses to rehome dogs.

Dog lover Louise Foster, of West Essex Pet Care in Goldings Road, Loughton, said: “He is very gentle when taking treats and is a very loving dog.

“He had been straying in traffic, but was thankfully unhurt.”

Other residents of the kennels needing a home are Sox, one, an American bulldog who has spent most of her life in kennels, Poppy, a white Staffordshire terrier, and Rocky, a crossbred male of about seven months.

Anyone interested in taking on a dog from the kennels can call 01992 892881 or visit www.rspcaessex-southwest.co.uk.

I wish them all the best in finding new homes.

The trouble with this Country is that it is too easy to take on a pet. Some people take them on without being able to care for themselves and dogs need that extra care.
