Two teams from Debden Park High School to take part in British School Karting Championship after sealing sponsorship deals

A Loughton school will be fielding two teams in the British School Karting Championship after they secured sponsorship from two local firms.

One team from Debden Park High School in Willingale Road will be sponsored by car dealership Sytner of Harold Hill, and the other will be backed by Waltham Abbey estate agents Duncan Phillips.

The team’s coach Graham Tongate said: “It is very refreshing to see large businesses are prepared to support young people as they strive to fulfil their ambitions.

“The six students were overwhelmed with the generosity of the sponsorship to assist them in their karting competition.”

It will be the first time that the school has entered the competition, and the first qualifying round will take place in Brentwood next month.

The six youngsters taking part are Jayden Fenton, Ben Green, Ollie Longshaw, Albie Cornwall, Chandler Bowling and Daniel Ward.
