A motorcyclist who died in a crash will not be named until next week at the earliest.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was declared dead at the scene after his blue Yamaha collided with a black Renault Trafic van in Buckhurst Hill at about 9.50pm on Friday.

The van driver, aged 33 and from Romford, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving at the scene of the crash outside the Hungry Horse pub in Buckhurst Way.

He is currently in police custody.

Police said that the motorcyclist’s next of kin have been informed, and that a coroner will decide whether to release his name.
