Teenager jailed following Chigwell postman robbery

A teenager who distracted a postman before he was beaten up and robbed has been jailed.

Jamie Reader, 18, offered to sell the postman cannabis while he was unloading his van outside Buckthorne House in Yellow Pine Way, Chigwell, in September.

Two other members of his gang then attacked the man from behind, pushing him to the ground before Reader robbed him.

Reader, of Ram’s Grove, Romford, was found guilty of robbery and offering to supply cannabis at Snaresbrook Crown Court on February 28.

He has been sentenced to 18 months in a youth offender’s institution.
