Epping Town Old People’s Welfare Association has had a name change, after deciding that it now sounds outdated.

The organisation will be known as Epping Senior Citizens’ Association, as of this month, although the charity will remain the same in every other way.

Chairman Andrew O’Brien said: “Although the former name has stood us in good stead since the Association started in the 1970’s, it was felt a more modern name is now more appropriate.”
