An outdoor gym is to be built after Essex County Council confirmed that a £10,000 grant, from the Big Society Fund, will be awarded.

The facility which will be built on the Willingale Road playing field, Loughton, will be the second that the Town Council has organised, after the success of the Roding Valley outdoor gym.

Town and District Councillor for Loughton Broadway, Leon Girling, said that the gym will be well placed for the people of Debden.

He said: “I think this equipment will be really good for the area, and the residents of Debden.

“People often go running down Willingale Road on nice days.”

Loughton Town Council is asking residents to come forward and make suggestions for the type of equipment that they would like the money to be spent on.

Anybody who would like to get involved and wishes to a put their ideas forward, is encouraged to visit www.loughton-tc.gov.uk.
