Gloucester old spot piglets arrive on Lee Valley Park Farm in Waltham Abbey

East London and West Essex Guardian Series: Some of the Gloucester old spot piglets Some of the Gloucester old spot piglets

Proud parents are keeping a check on their latest litter of piglets that have been finding their feet over the past week.

Georgia the Gloucester old spot sow gave birth to the piglets on February 16 at the Lee Valley Park Farm in Waltham Abbey, where their father, saddleback Hawk Eye, also lives.

Kate Chaplin, duty manager at the farm, said: “Georgia is fantastic with them. It’s her second litter, so she’s good with the baby thing.

“We’ve got new gates that are piglet-proof. The old gate sat just above the ground, so piglets could squeeze through, but not anymore.”

The farm in Stubbins Hall Lane is open to the public daily.
