INVESTIGATIONS are underway to find the cause of a blaze involving three large petrol tanks at the weekend.
Fire crews were called to tackle the blaze at Patch Park farm, Ongar Road, Abridge at about 9.15pm on Saturday.
The three tanks contained around 30,000 litres of chrysene and the fire spread to several vehicles and propane cylinders nearby.
Crews from Loughton, Epping, Woodford, Harlow, Rayleigh Weir and Hainault attended to help control the fire.
Divisional Officer Mark Samuels, of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Crews worked in arduous conditions as they (ECFRS) dealt with four fuel tanks, numerous vehicles, tyres, timber, cylinders and a number of mobile homes on fire.
"Various cylinders involved in the fire exploded and an exclusion zone was set up.
"Crews from ECFRS and London Fire Brigade did an excellent job preventing the fire from spreading.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, but is being investigated by police and ECFRS.
