A PRIMARY school's very own ground force team flexed their muscles to plant three new trees at their town's pocket park.
Pupils from Shelley Primary School, in Ongar, dug and filled in all the holes to help set up the three new mature silver birch trees at Shelley Pocket Park.
Headteacher Lesley Lewis said: “Shelley School pupils were heavily involved in designing the Pocket Park. By planting these trees they continue to be involved in making it a park for the children within the Shelley community. They feel proud of their park.”
Ongar Town Council clerk Mark Squire said: “The children worked very hard digging the soil and filling in the holes for the new trees and despite getting very muddy had a very enjoyable time.
“I was impressed that the children were so aware of the environmental benefits that the new trees will bring”.
