POLICE have called on the public to help them catch a man suspected of stealing watches worth a total of over £5,000.

Officers want anyone with information about the whereabouts of Brendon Smith, 27, who was last known to be living in Hackney Road, Bethnal Green, to contact them.

He is suspected of stealing the watches during a burglary sometime between 11am and 2.20pm on October 23, 2009, in Millwell Crescent, Chigwell.

Among the items stolen was a limited edition Omega Michael Schumacher watch.

Smith is described as white, of slight build, 5ft 2ins tall, with blue eyes, brown hair, and also has a "boomerang shaped" scar on his right wrist.

He speaks with an Irish accent.
