CROWDS of auction enthusiasts queued round the block when a film crew came to town.
BBC programme Cash in the Attic set up shop for the day at Boningtons Auctions, in Old Station Road, Loughton, to film some hot hammer action.
Hosted by Jenny Bond and Jonty Hernden, the popular show sees families selling their unwanted family heirlooms for cash and mother and daughter team Sally Mackown and Valerie Perri, from Harlow, duly took up the challenge at Boningtons.
The biggest lot sold on the day was a collection of sovereigns cashing in at £2,800 while the special celebrity seller was comedian Joe Pasquale who raised over £300 for charity by auctioning a muscle suit he wore on stage and a signed Elton John CD.
Boningtons owner Shaban Munir said: “It went really well, and we had a nice full room. A lot of people came to take autographs of Joe.
“It was a very good day and helped to create more interest for us. People were queueing up outside to get in, and a couple of people asked when they would be filming again.”
