BUCKHURST HILL: Two in hospital after car crash

TWO people have been taken to hospital following a car crash.

Ambulance services were called to Westbury Road, in Buckhurst Hill, around 2.30pm yesterday (September 5) following a collision between a blue Nissan Micra and silver Mercedes C270, at the junction with Palmerston Road.

A 38-year-old woman was found conscious and breathing by the ambulance crew, but suffered chest, arm and face injuries while a 35-year-old man, who was also conscious and breathing, was treated for leg and chest injuries.

Both victims were taken to Whipps Cross Hospital, Leytonstone.

The road was closed for just over an hour following the incident and police have confirmed they are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash.

The amount of times I have almost been run into on that roundabout by someone (usually a young woman) in a massive 4 x 4 who doesn't know the highway code, but is always right by virtue of the size of the vehicle.

One of the worst decisions made by the council as of late. They have installed a roundabout in a place where it is totally unnecessary. It is so infrequently used as a result of one of the roads being a no-entry that everyone in the local area now acts as if it does not exist and goes flying over it. It really should be removed.

If anything something needs to be done about the junction at Roebuck Lane where 3 roads meet, the number of near-misses at that junction is incredible, and in the mornings thoughtless drivers position themselves as to stop people turning into Roebuck Lane - yellow box perhaps?
