A MAN who killed a father-of-five and dismembered his body has been told he will spend at least 20 years in prison.
Douglas Binet, 54, of Hanson Drive, Loughton, was found guilty of murdering Anthony Whitefield, 47, by all 12 members of the jury at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday and was given a life sentence today (Thursday).
Binet dismembered Mr Whitefield’s body after killing him, hiding his arms in Roding Lake, Buckhurst Hill, and burying his torso and legs in his garden.
After Tuesday's conviction, the judge in the case, his honour Mr Justice Sweeney, told Binet to consider revealing where Mr Whitefield's head was hidden, but he refused to do so in court today.
