CHILDREN and adults took to the slopes around the district over the weekend to make the most of the year’s first snow fall.
Among them was 10-year-old Khan Gorgulu, who took his huskies Luca and Indi for a run in Spring Grove, Loughton, on Sunday morning.
He regularly competes in the sport of mushing – controlling two dogs and a sled – around the country, but usually has to make do with a ‘sled’ on wheels rather than snow.
Toboggans were also seen hurling down Hillyfields park, while birds huddled together for warmth on frozen ponds in Epping Forest.
Severe delays affected the Central line on Sunday morning because of snow on the tracks.
The Met Office has issued severe cold weather warnings across the south east of England for today (Monday) and tomorrow.
Temperatures are set to remain at around 1C tonight and tomorrow, dropping as low as -4C tomorrow night.
