POLICE are appealing for the driver and passengers of a bus which is believed to have driven along Station Road, Chigwell, as a robbery was taking place, to come forward.
A 22-year-old Ilford man was robbed of his mobile phone, iPod, wallet and two rings as a number 167 bus - believed to be a London bus travelling to Ilford - drove past between 10.10pm and 10.30pm on Sunday.
The victim was approached by four black men while at a bus stop at about 10.10pm. Two of the men stood in front of him and two behind.
Police said they kicked and punched the man to get a bag from his arm. They then forced him into the bus shelter where they continued to assault him before running off.
One of the rings is an initial ring engraved with RL and the other is gold with five diamonds.
The wallet and iPod were later found at Chigwell Station.
