HARDMAN film star Ray Winstone, who lives in Roydon, could be starring in a movie remake of the 70s TV classic The Sweeney, it has been reported.
Winstone is being lined up to play Detective Inspector Jack Regan who was played by the late John Thaw in the long-running television series.
Quoted in The Sun newspaper, Winstone said: "I haven't read the script yet but if it's good you read it and you have a go at it. It'd be a laugh wouldn't it?"
Winstone has been a regular supporter of the Haven House Childrens Hospice at Woodford Green and is also pledging his support to a new Epping-based, Dreams Factory, charity which makes dreams come true for sick children.
