Heroic GB Olympians Dame Laura Kenny and Sir Jason have announced the birth of their second child in a heartwarming post online.

The two sporting legends won multiple Olympic medals before being honoured with official titles.

The couple now have two children, announcing on Instagram the birth of Montgomery George Kenny on Thursday night.

The post said: "Welcome to the world Montgomery George Kenny. Born 20/07/2023 Weighing 9,0lbs at 7.59 pm."

Previously, the Kenny Family had announced in January that they were expecting the birth of their second child this year.

Their eldest, Albie, was born in 2017 but the couple sadly suffered a miscarriage in November 2021.

Dame Laura then had to undergo a life-saving operation to remove a fallopian tube.

Kenny became pregnant at the Tokyo Olympics in 2022 where she won gold, adding to her impressive titles from the London and Rio Olympics in 2012.

Dame Laura Kenny reveals her eldest wanted to be a big brother

In an interview with The Mirror, sporting legend Dame Laura Kenny revealed how her husband Sir Jason helped her through a traumatic year.

She also said that her eldest son was desperate to be a big brother and that he wanted the new child to be a boy.

She said: "We asked Albie what he wanted and he kept saying a little boy. I said to him, ‘What happens if we get a baby sister?’ And he was like, ‘I don’t want it’. I’ve never felt so relieved as when we got the result.”

She added: "We showed him the scan and he said, ‘I hope he grows up quickly.’ He wants the baby to be born aged five!”

Husband Jason won his last Olympic gold medals in Tokyo before announcing that he would be retiring from racing to become the coach for the UK men's sprint team.
