Last Thursday, September 11, I attempted to get on the W14 bus outside Boots in George Lane.
I failed to realise the incline on the ramp (I am in an electric wheelchair) was too steep to allow me to get on as usual. Consequently I fell back rather dramatically on to my head.
There was a lot of blood! It must have been quite frightening to see.
I want to thank the driver and bystanders for their speedy help, with blankets, pillows, and jackets and wet wipes.
The ambulance and police arrived quite quickly and I was scooped up (literally – they use a two-sided scoop) and taken to Whipps for an hour or so while they glued my head together.
So thank you for your concern and I’m sorry for causing such a panic and delay.
Revd Megan Wylie-Smith,
Manor Court Lodge
South Woodford.
