I wish to apologise to D King (Guardian, October 16) for portraying Rod in what she considered an unflattering light.

Unfortunately this was set up at very short notice and I have been growing my hair in order to have a very representable style done for seeing him in Vegas next month.

As to “fashion disaster” I can only state that the shirt was a one-off original and cost a fortune, thus the point of the article .

In conclusion I am highly chuffed and amused that of all the important local issues raised in that particular edition the one that warranted her putting pen to paper was little ol’ me.

Ian Logie, Rod Stewart impersonator.

Regarding Mrs King's unkind, inappropriate comments about the Rod Stewart lookalike, have we not been told by parents, teachers and people in authority to never judge a book by its cover?

Mrs King you just broke the rule.

Ian Logie is well known in his own right and community for all the good deeds he carries out and his donations to charity.

He is loved around the world by people who have never seen or met him (including myself) but have the pleasure of sharing his passion and information and comments on various Rod Stewart fan sites on the web.

Mrs King, an apology would be appreciated.

Mrs S Ast, Edinburgh.

Mrs D King from Ongar, you are infinitely rude in your comments.

Ian is not only known by Rod but a lifelong fan as well.

He generously donated £400 to a worthy charity by bidding on this shirt and you should be praising him, not putting him down.

You obviously have nothing better to do so maybe you should send in a photo of yourself so we can all comment on your looks and criticise your sense of dress.

May I suggest that you get a life and leave others to live theirs the way they choose.

From a fellow Rod fan.

In response to D King about making fun of a Rod Stewart fan. She was not only hurtful, disrespectful, she was wrong. Ian Logie, a long time Rod Stewart fan, was not trying to impersonate him, he had just won an auction benefiting breast cancer. He was being a good sport going along with the pictures. Rod Stewart himself would be very proud of the contribution Ian had made to the charity.
