The talk at the last meeting, on June 18, was given by Mr Curry, aka the weather man.
He pointed out some interesting facts about the weather, such as on September 5, 1958, a month's rain fell in one-and-a-half hours.
The mildest winter's day recorded was on January 25, 1990 but even on that day violent storms were experienced.
Members heard about hurricanes and tornadoes, sandstorms and dust clouds.
Mixed in with these dates and information were a few ditties and poems all very amusing.
To sum up the evening, I suppose you could say the talk was sunshine and showers with some very bright intervals.
And it was enjoyed by all.
