THE weather was a little kinder to this year's Bromley Horse Show and although overcast for most of the day, the majority of the visitors to the show stayed dry!

Once again, the show attracted hundreds of entries from owners and riders, many of whom had travelled some distance with their horses and ponies to compete for the rosettes and challenge trophies in the 61 classes available to enter.

Well supported by local riders, two com-petitors who reside in Bromley borough, Rebecca Dolan, riding Jacara, and Nicola Spensly aboard Quatino, won tickets to compete at the Ponies (UK) Summer Championship Show at the East of England Showground next month.

The Frogpool Manor Saddlery Victor Lu-dorum Challenge Trophy was again won by Harriet Miles, riding her horse The Right Idea.

She had left her home in Marlow, in Buckinghamshire, at 4am to take part, but her early start was rewarded when she won the beautiful sculpture of a horses' head by animal artist Belinda Sillars.

Harriet also won the Bovelle Challenge Trophy in the Open Equitation class.

New for this year was the Nationwide Driveways' Dressage Points Championship, which was won by Flair Sifleet on her horse The Lone Brigadiar.

The Mayor of Bromley attended and presented this year's winner of the Munich 72 Trophies Combined Training Trophy to Ella Prichard riding Lornty Glan Scaba, with the sponsors' silver trophy.

Organisers of the show would like to thank all the hardworking people who make this show possible, and all the sponsors who support the event.

They including local sponsors Beadles of Sidcup, La Belle Femme, Opal Heating Services, Bromley Common Liveries, John Humphreys (Turf Accountants) Ltd, Royal Gallery of Chislehurst, Bromley Small Business Centre, Creative FX (Bromley) Ltd, The Image Studio, SK Landscapes, Images Bedrooms Ltd, Fun-time Entertainments and Frogpool Manor Saddlery.
