February 20, 2001 9:33: A PLAN to link Bexley Magistrates' Court with Woolwich Crown Court instead of Croydon is being considered by the Solicitor General.
Nigel Beard, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, has been pressing Ross Cranston MP QC and Lord Chancellor Derry Irvine to make the change because he says people would find it much easier to get to Woolwich than the awkward journey to Croydon.
Mr Beard's request comes as the Crown Prosecution Service and London magistrates' courts are being reorganised.
