MORECAMBE offers one of the finest outlooks in Britain from its miles of seafront.

A spectacular panorama of views across the bay to the Lakeland hills beyond can be enjoyed from anywhere along the resort’s five-mile stretch of promenade.

Morecambe offers the perfect opportunity for visitors and local people alike to take in fresh sea air along with all the trimmings of the seaside – cafes, arcades, rock and candyfloss stalls and much more.

Among recent new attractions are the now world-renowned Eric Morecambe statue on the seafront and the Flock of Words poem path opened earlier this year – a 300-yard-long walkway of famous words and sayings running through the heart of town.

There is the attractive stone jetty with pavement games and sculptures, and Happy Mount Park – a fun haven for all the family with its paddling pool, play area, crown green bowling, café and picnic areas.

Morecambe is also a mecca for birdwatchers who flock to the area, which has gained a reputation for being a breeding ground of international significance for migrating birds.

As if that wasn’t enough, Morecambe a bustling little town in its own right – with its traditional shopping streets, the busy Arndale Centre and magnificent Festival Market all adding their own particular flavour to the mix.

Nor does the town shut down as the lights come on, with modern venues and attractions such as The Platform, The Dome, a tenpin bowling alley, Megazone experience, multi-screen cinema and a host of pubs and clubs all competing for the attention of nightlife lovers.
