Frances Sherlock with strapped-up Jet
A MYSTERY man came to the rescue of a pensioner in distress -- thendisappeared before she had a chance to thank him.
Frances Sherlock's dog Jet was kicked by a horse, breaking its legin three places, while they were walking along the bank of the River Crayin Footscray Meadows.
Mrs Sherlock found herself in a state of shock, a mile from her car andwith her three-year-old grandson John, a maimed Jet, and three other dogs.
Mrs Sherlock, from Hallford Way, Dartford, said: "The dog was isshock and bleeding badly, and I was in shock as well.
"I had no idea how I was going to get to my car, and nobody offeredto help -- not the woman on the horse or any of the other people whowere around at the time."
Then the good Samaritan, in his mid-Twenties, came along and helped MrsSherlock back to her car with all the dogs and John.
Mrs Sherlock said: "He went out of his way to help me and he was theonly one who did.
"I just wanted to say thanks, but he disappeared so quickly I didn'thave a chance to thank him properly."
