PATIENTS in need of a good laugh needed to look no further that thehospital's X-ray department.

In their annual quest to raise cash for BBC's Children In Need, thedepartment donned fancy dress. This year their theme was famous people andthey had everyone from Pamela Anderson to the Phantom of the Opera. In thefive years since they started, they have raised more than £2,500 andhope to raise another £500 this year.

Asda staff in Bexleyheath brought in £525 for the charity by dyeingtheir hair yellow, making and raffling a Pudsey Bear cake and a number ofsponsored events.

At the Woolwich branch opposite the store a giant Pudsey Bear wascollecting cash for the appeal.

And Year 7 pupils at Bexley Grammar School raised £800 through asponsored netball shoot-out and a Pudsey Bear raffle.
