PARENTS and teachers across Kent are being asked for their opinion on how to improve education.

This week, Kent County Council reveals its Education Development Plan (EDP) and is asking for comments, before a report is submitted to the government in February.

The EDP sets out KCC's ideas and priorities leading up to the millennium. Director Nick Henwood said: "We need to work with schools more closely to ensure they receive consistent high quality support.

"It's only through close partnership we can make sure that children get the most out of their time at school."

The EDP is based on remarks by parents, governors and teachers about what they want from the LEA, and is set to be put into practice in the spring of 1999. But the plan must go before the government first.
