Rail passengers travelling between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury will be feeling more cosy from Monday thanks to the introduction of a new train.

Chiltern Railway has unveiled a refurbished 65-seat passenger service which will travel between the two towns. The move comes after the previous train, which consisted of two carriages catering for up to 180 passengers, often had empty seats.

Mike Bagshaw, director of commercial planning, said: "The re-introduction of the Class 121 further improves the availability of seating across our network as it frees up two Class 165 carriages to provide between 90-180 seats for use on our busiest commuter routes."

The new train has been designed in the same style as the existing fleet as part of Chiltern Railways £17million refurbishment programme.

In addition to improvements in comfort, the train has been fitted with new safety equipment and a customer service inspector will be available at all times.
