FUND-RAISERS in Grange-over-Sands were inbuoyant mood this week following another breakthrough in their bid toraise cash for a community swimming pool.
The CartmelPeninsular Recreational Trust has been attempting to raise £800,000 `matchfunding' to net a Sport England National Lottery Grant to pay for apool.
Over the last week the trust has hosted a cross Bay walkraising £8,000 in one day and attracted a further £7,000 of individualdonations.
After raising more than £68,000 in the last sevenweeks, the trust now has only £20,000 left to go.
SpokesmanCarole Taylor said: "Someone actually dropped a cheque for £2,000 into ourcollection bucket at the cross Bay walk.
I always knew peopleof Grange really wanted a swimming pool but this istremendous.
We are so closenow."
