Cumbria's newest tourist information centreat the Rheged Discovery Centre has earned networked status, making it anofficial centre recognised by the English TouristCouncil.
Catherine Webb, tourist information centreco-ordinator for Cumbria Tourist Board, said: "The centre at Rheged hasundergone rigorous inspection which has shown they not only meet butexceed the extensive criteria set for informationcentres.
Staff were thoroughly tested on visitor informationand accommodation bookings."
