March 8, 2001 15:19: BROMLEY Council has been running its own Punch and Judy show, as part of the Pride of Place awards scheme.
The scheme, made up of the building design awards, the countryside management awards and Pride of Place, recognise local environmental improvements in the three areas. These might be good building design, maintaining an important piece of woodland or setting up a recycling scheme.
Councillor Martin Lockwood was delighted by the puppets' decision to get involved.
He said: "We hope they encourage Bromley's residents to send us entries. Cash prizes are available to reward the hard work carried out by those who help keep Bromley Clean and Green."
