May 18, 2001 9:59: If it's good enough for Richard Carpenter, then Wendy Roberts' portrayal of Karen Carpenter should be good enough for us.
Roberts and the Carpenters Orchestra have recreated the easy-on-the-ear sounds of the famous brother-sister duo in more than 1,000 Original Carpenters Tribute shows since teaming up in 1992.
The seven-piece orchestra and Roberts' vocals prompted Richard Carpenter to say: "What I have heard is very good, very accurate and I find it flattering."
Catch the show at the Stag Theatre, London Road, Sevenoaks, on Saturday, May 26, from 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £6 to £12, are available from the box office on 01732 450175.
