WANDERERS legend Martin O'Neill said Wycombe fans would always have a special place in his heart on an emotional return to Adams Park to commemorate ten years in the Football League.
The club's most successful manager was back in his old stomping ground on Friday at a special get together with a whole host of past and present players.
Despite just having lost the UEFA Cup with his current side Celtic, the Irish man was on top form and told Midweek: "It is hard to believe it is ten years since this club entered the Football League.
"To be back here is absolutely terrific and to see so many old faces again is wonderful."
O'Neill led Wycombe Wanderers from non-league obscurity to the second division of the Football League after joining in February 1990.
He also led Wanderers to Wembley twice in the FA Trophy before moving to Norwich, Leicester and now Celtic.
O'Neill added: "It's so great to be back at this magnificent stadium and to see how far this club has come in such a short space of time.
"The team under Lawrie Sanchez is doing great and it is wonderful to see the support of the fans is still as strong as ever.
"Being here tonight brings back so many good memories and it's a pleasure to see so many old friends."
O'Neill was joined by 18 former players who helped the team win promotion to the Football League ten years ago, including Paul Hyde, Matt Crossley, Keith Ryan, Andy Kerr, Simon Stapleton, Dennis Greene, Matt Crossley and Anton Vircavs.
