WASPS broke their run of 11 wins in a row when Harlequins did the double on them at a packed Adams Park on Saturday.
Harlequins are the only side Wasps have failed to beat in a successful season in which they finished second in the league and have secured a Zurich Premiership semi-final against the Northampton Saints and a place in the final of the Parker Pen Challenge Cup, against Bath.
Harlequins Paul Burke was the first to score on Saturday with a penalty given for offside.
Wasps defended well in the first half and kept pushing for a try and it came on 24 minutes from Craig Dowd, with Alex King converting to make the score 7-3 to Wasps.
King also landed a penalty in the final minutes of the first half before Harlequins wing Ugo Monye, scored a surprise try. Burke missed the conversion to make the half-time score 10-8.
Kenny Logan dived over to score Wasps second try. King missed the conversion but then landed the penalty to take the score to 18-8.
But then Harlequin's scrumhalf Matthew Powell scored under the posts and Burke converted to make the score18-15.
The Quin's took the lead when Monye scored his second try of the day, which Burke converted.
King scored another penalty in the 68th minute, but then Burke landed a drop-goal five minutes from the end to finish the scoring at 21-25.
Wasps face Northampton on Saturday.
