BECKENHAM'S Big Brother star Kate Lawler escaped eviction from the Channel Four house on Friday, after a campaign by her family and the News Shopper.
Brummie law student PJ was evicted with a massive 81 per cent of the vote, leaving keen kickboxer Kate, 22, in with a chance of the £70,000 prize.
The Lawler family, of Broomfield Road, launched a campaign to keep Kate in the house and have been overwhelmed by the support of local people.
They hope Kate can make it to the final week of the show.
Kate's sister Kelly, 25, said: "I'm so proud of Kate and the support we've had from friends, family and neighbours. It was quite upsetting on Friday night, because we do miss her and I just want to give her a cuddle.
"I voted loads of times. My phone bill's going to be huge.
"She definitely thought she would be leaving the house she guessed when she went in she'd be the fourth to be evicted.
The family celebrated PJ's eviction but will save the real partying for when Kate leaves the house hopefully with £70,000 in her pocket.
Kelly said: "It's harder for her not being able to see us.
"At least when we miss her we can just turn on the TV."
