POLICE in London are to be armed with plastic bullet firing guns.
The Metropolitan Police Authority has decided to introduce the weapons, known as baton guns, so that officers can defend themselves with less risk of fatalities.
Deputy Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Authority Richard Barnes said: "I believe the introduction of plastic bullets will be a valuable addition in the fight against crime in the capital."
