Teddington Swimming Club went into the last round of the London Division 1 Speedo League in the safe knowledge that they had secured enough points in previous rounds to avoid relegation, but this did not stop the club from producing one of its best performances of the season.

Robert Garvey was Teddington's best performer on the night, picking up two golds in the under-12 category for backstroke and freestyle at 50 metres.

Eighteen-year-old Gina Heyn got Teddington's evening off to a flying start as she took first place in the opening event of (Ladies Open 200 metre IM).

Scott Jermy also took first in the under-12 50 metre butterfly and the under-12 age group proved successful on the night as Garvey and Jermy teamed up with Peter Darby, Ross McIntosh, and Jack Clement to win both freestyle and medley relays.

Simon Churchman put in a battling performance to take first in the under-16 100 metre butterfly setting a new club record in the process.

In the open age group there was a clean sweep as both Leon Smith and Gina Heyn took first place in their 100 metre breaststroke events.

The girls under-14 team of Katerina Read, Alice Heath, Sarah Melotte and Amy Wilson hung on for victory in an exciting freestyle relay race.

The other competing teams were Edmonton Phoenix, Griffins of Enfield, Tring, and Potters Bar, with Teddington finishing in third place.

Their were new club records set by Gina Heyn, Scott Jermy, Simon Churchman, Amy Wilson, and Daniel Jermy, who beat his own record in the 100 metre butterfly by nearly three seconds.

Personal best times were set by Ellen Presser, Yasmin Barnett, Katerina Read, Sarah Melotte, Taka Ohta, Craig Lambert, Ed Rice, Alice Melotte, David Curant, Mark Claydon, John Whatley, Oliver Haynes, Adam Acland, Jessica Russell, Jack Clement, Alice Heath and Sam Maloney-Cox.
