Herts League Division Nine

Last season: Promoted from Division Ten

Captain: Trevor Turnbull

Ins: None

Outs: None

Key Man: Gareth Thomason: At 22-years of age, the gifted right-hander is the lynch-pin of the batting line-up and is on-course to register his 1,000th league run for the club in the opening weeks of the season.

Verdict: Met Police Bushey are a club that continues to go from strength to strength. Since their entry into the league three seasons ago the club has been promoted twice and can now boast a second XI.

Hopes of a third promotion will hinge on the runs of Thomason, Turnbull and wicket-keeper Steve Murphy, while the wickets of Mike Burke, Craig Cobb, Mick McCoy and Sam Mazurek will prove imperative in Met Police's ability to skittle teams out.

"We hope to achieve mid-table respectablity," said Turnbull, who has masterminded Met Police's rise through the divisions. "Obviously, we would like to be up there challenging but we will just have to wait and see. But we must learn to defend matches and not just go all out for the win."

Other teams: second XI - Division 13.
