Only an act of nature has prevented Enfield Town manager Jim Chandler from having a full squad for Saturday's encounter against third-placed Southend Manor at the Goldsdown Road.

Trailing Ilford on goal difference and with two games in hand, confidence in the Enfield camp is high and all players are available for selection with possibly one exception.

He added: "Bradley Quinn's wife is expecting a baby so he would be the only doubt for the game.

"However, I've got 22 players to choose from and getting it down to a squad of 14 is going to be very difficult. I expect to have Stuart Snowdon back. He wouldn't have played last week but he trained last night and he will be in contention."

A layer of snow at Bowers United prevented Town from leapfrogging league leaders Ilford last weekend, but Chandler is fully expecting a victory in the top-of-the-table clash.

"I watched them play the week before last at Romford and they are a hard-working side but I am going to be extremely disappointed if we don't get the three points," he said.

"It won't be easy as every team in this league wants to beat us but when I saw them play it was a very poor game and all my players are chomping at the bit to get the result at the weekend."

Chandler said the expectation level would not get to his team, despite many observers confidently predicting Enfield as runaway winners.

He said: "We have got the biggest squad in the league and everyone expects us to win it.

"I expect us to win this league but it won't be won until the end. "It is just a matter of keeping the players ticking over until the weekend and if none of them pick up injuries at work we'll be all right."
